100% of Contexte’s revenue comes from subscriptions.
More than 1,600 organisations subscribe to Contexte. The largest subscription contract represents 1.2% of sales.
Contexte does not own any interests in other companies, other than 100% of Contexte Belgique SRL, a company set up in 2019 to employ Contexte journalists in Brussels. All revenue from Contexte Belgique SRL comes from Contexte SAS.

Subsidies
One of the company’s investment projects is currently receiving a subsidy from the Strategic Press Development Fund, managed by the French Ministry of Culture:
For 2024, Contexte received a €289k grant under the subsidy for the pluralism of fully online press services, €5k in aid for a cybersecurity audit, and €8k in aid for hiring apprentices.
The company also received a €120k innovation tax credit for 2024 for its work on its automated parliamentary activity monitoring tool.

Contexte has been a member of a professional organisation, Spiil (Syndicat de la presse indépendante d'information en ligne), since it was founded. Jean-Christophe Boulanger, CEO of Contexte, represents Contexte on the board. Spiil advocates for equal treatment for the print and online press and an end to direct, permanent public subsidies for the press, and promotes the importance of independent press publishers for our democracy. All the positions defended by Spiil are disclosed.
Contexte is a member of Geste, an association of publishers of online content and services.
Contexte is a member of Conseil de déontologie journalistique et de médiation (CDJM - Journalism Ethics and Mediation Council). Anne-Laure Mercier, Head of the Health Division, represents Contexte on the Board of Directors.
