No interests outside Contexte
Contexte is not a lever for the wider strategy of a shareholder with interests outside the media outlet. This guarantees that the choices made by the company are exclusively in the interest of the media outlet, and therefore of its readers. We are the masters of our own destiny.
Understanding the shareholders and their interestsA profitable company
We can only remain financially independent if we stay profitable. We assess this by deducting the subsidies from our earnings, because we need to be able to do without them. And this is the case.

It is not enough for us to publish our shareholding and financial statements. In keeping with the relationship of trust we wish to build with our subscribers, we disclose all interests likely to have an impact on the company: shareholdings, debts, donations received and granted, subsidies received, membership of professional organisations, etc.

No advertising at Contexte. No sponsorship. Only one revenue model: subscription. The interests of sales people and journalists are fully aligned with those of readers. We write for our subscribers, not for advertisers, and that allows us to focus on what we do best.
A wide range of subscribers
14,000 people in 1,600 organisations read us. Two-thirds of them work in the private sector (companies or associations), and one-third in the public sector (local authorities, institutions and educational establishments). The largest subscription contract represents just 1.2% of our sales.
